Young witches and wizards will begin their journey with a seasonal picture hunt around the grounds, uncovering clues about Halloween and the Celtic festival Samhain before learning all about their magical meaning. Next, it's time for broomstick flying lessons! Practise your take-off, improve your wizarding skills and prepare for a magical mission. Then create your very own wand, decorating and personalising it to take home as a special keepsake.
Armed with your wand, you'll learn magical spells, mix mysterious potions and discover the secrets of traditional herbs and ingredients. Gather around the ancient hearth in the Old Hall for a spine-tingling ghost story inspired by the building's fascinating history. With atmospheric sounds, flickering shadows and a little help from your magical hosts, you'll be transported into a world of spooky tales and enchantment.
Perfect for curious witches and wizards aged 7-11, this fun-filled Halloween experience combines crafts, adventure, storytelling and magic for a spellbinding day to remember!
Please note this event takes place partly outdoors and also inside an unheated, period building. All children must be accompanied by at least 1 adult, and everyone must purchase a ticket. To maximise your enjoyment, it is essential you come dressed for the outdoors.
