Make A Terrarium Workshop

Date(s)
30 May 2026
Description

Three images of people building a terrarium in a glass jar.

Create your own beautiful terrarium with the help of our experienced partners, Green & Grounded.

In this fun and hands-on terrarium workshop, you will create your very own sealed cloche terrarium – a self-sustaining world that looks beautiful and takes care of itself over time.

With our experienced partners, Green & Grounded, you will explore how sealed terrariums work and they will guide you through each step of building your own ecosystem. You will layer soils, add natural materials and plant a coffee plant as the centrepiece of your terrarium. You will also explore how moisture, light and balance help everything thrive inside a closed environment. No previous experience is needed, just curiosity and creativity.

This workshop takes place during half term, making it a great activity for younger nature lovers. Children are very welcome to join, however all children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, with responsibility remaining with the accompanying adult throughout the session. Each person wishing to make a terrarium must purchase a ticket.

By the end of the class, you will head home with a sealed cloche terrarium and a new understanding of how these fascinating ecosystems work – plus a lovely living piece to enjoy at home.
