Field to Fork in the Gardens
Our Walled Kitchen Gardens and Orchards continue to be used to this day, growing succulent and tasty seasonal produce. Today we use much of the fruit and vegetables grown there in our Stables restaurant and Gardener’s Cottage. You’ll regularly see our Gardener’s picking the finest produce at the optimum time and supplying the kitchens, to enable you to have the opportunity of enjoying tasty meals made with Tatton produce grown just yards away.
To tell the Field to Fork story and give you a taste of Tatton, our gardening team have installed chalkboards across the Kitchen Gardens to tell you more about the varieties grown, their origins and fascinating facts such as the techniques we use, harvesting times and much more. Our Garden Trail, available from the Summer, will encourage you to visit different parts of our 50 acre award-winning Gardens to see where food items are grown – a great trail for children and their understanding of food provenance.
This year the Gardens team will also be turning their hand to growing monster sized pumpkins ready for our autumnal celebration in October. Keep up to date through our social media channels to see their pumpkin progress!
