Christmas FAQs

Our main priority has always been the safety of our visitors and staff and our Christmas events are no different. We’ve adjusted Father Christmas at the Farm experience and developed a new outdoor Christmas Trail in the Gardens where visitor numbers are dramatically reduced to help with social distancing. We ask that everyone does their bit whilst they visit us over the festive period by following the social distancing rules and maintain a 2m distance from others wherever possible particularly when moving around the Farm and Garden trail. Face masks need to be worn (unless exempt) in any of our indoor spaces.

To keep everyone safe we are reducing the number of visitors on site and timed entry tickets must be booked online for the Gardens and Farm. Around 80% of the capacity are for National Trust members to enjoy. These slots are extremely popular and we advise you to book early to avoid disappointment. The remaining 20% of tickets are for paid visitors to ensure everyone can visit this special place and we can continue to care for it and remain open. We ask everyone to be considerate and only book tickets one visit at a time please and be sure you can make the visit.

We required a booking for all people entering the Gardens (including children). Under 4's get in free but still need to be included when you book. Please select the appropriate box at time of booking (including NT members 4 and over).

Unfortunately, once a booking is paid for and your transaction processed, due to our events being capacity controlled and in high demand, we regret that we cannot make amendments to your booking. Event tickets are non – transferrable and non- refundable as outlined in the ticket T’s and C’s.

We are aware that coronavirus measures are constantly changing, and this may mean that you may need to cancel your visit at short notice. If you are in a tier 3 area or are self isolating and have already paid for a ticket to visit one of our attractions or events, you can either:

1) transfer your visit to another day at any time over the next 12 months (we will send you a complimentary Totally Tatton Ticket which gives you entry to the Gardens, Mansion and Farm) or

2) contact us for a full ticket refund by contacting with your TP number.

Vehicle park entry tickets are valid for one year from date of purchase.

Should we have to withdraw the event due to changes in government guidance we will automatically process a refund within 28 days of notifying you of the cancellation.

Father Christmas at the Farm and the Christmas Garden trail are both outdoor events. The events would go ahead even in the rain - so please come prepared in suitable warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear! Teams onsite constantly review the weather and only in adverse conditions such as high winds, would we need to take further action and we would let you know as soon as possible before your visit.

Even Santa must stay safe whilst he greets his little visitors and so he will be wearing a face mask or visor.
