Mindful walking

A mindful walking experience in the beautiful surroundings of Tatton Park with a fully qualified and experienced coach. The session will start with an explanation of how we can use physical sensations within the body as a way to ‘stay present’, and then continue with a guided movement practice to explore this further. Please note, this is not an exercise class and will involve only simple movements and gentle stretching, so all levels of fitness can be catered for. You will then be guided through a mindful walking experience, where you can explore our wonderful grounds and practice what you have learned. To finish, there will be a short ‘bodyscan’ practice where we will become more aware of the body in stillness, and how this can help to settle our busy minds.

No equipment is necessary, although please come dressed for the weather conditions, as we will be working outdoors wherever possible. If you have a rug, blanket, yoga mat or small stool that you can bring to sit on, this would be helpful but is not essential. Your guide for the session will be Elanor Kortland, who has been practicing mindfulness for over 15 years and is registered with BAMBA, the British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches, and who is also a qualified yoga teacher. Park entry on the day of the event is included within the ticket price.
