Meet the Ranger Team
The Ranger team are
responsible for the care of the parkland, including the Red and
Fallow deer herds, Soay and St Kilda sheep and the conservation and
upkeep of the woodland, meres and wetlands of the 1,000 acre
estate.
The rangers all have their own specialist wildlife interest, be
that fungi, trees or birdlife. They regularly lead parkland and
wildlife walks and activities. Visit our adult and family learning
page for more information. The team are also keen wildlife
photographers - the Nature Trail booklet (which can be bought
in the Gift Shop) features photographs taken exclusively by the
team.
You may have seen the Rangers on BBC North West Tonight
throughout 2010. Ranger Darren Morris and other team members
regularly featured in ‘Darren’s Diary’ a series showcasing wildlife
footage taken by the rangers at Tatton.
