Farm News

The Sun has arrived!

The sun is shining, the grass is at last growing and the farm is a hive of activity and full of new life now Spring is underway!  It is certainly a magical time of year and farm staff are delighted to have welcomed the safe arrival of 49 beautiful bonny lambs, 40 plus chicks and ducklings and up to now 7 piglets with many more due to arrive!  It certainly is a busy place to be at the moment!  The newest addition to our family of four legged friends has come in the form of ‘Tatton May’ – our first calf this year!  What a joy to see 7 year old mum ‘Tatton Scarlett’ so happy with her calf, she looks as proud as Punch.  She calved on the morning of May 2nd so we thought her name was a perfect celebration of May Day. We are sure you agree she looks absolutely beautiful from her photo and takes after her mum’s good looks.

Our next imminent mum to be is ‘Tatton Tulip’ one of our prize winning red Poll cows who is an old hand at strutting her stuff in the Cheshire Show ring.  She certainly is a beautiful lady and we can’t wait to see if she produces yet another show stopping calf.  Her due date is May 8th…….watch this space!

The count down is also on for the Cheshire Show which is held on the 18th and 19th June.  This year we shall be taking a cow and calf, 2 horses, a ewe and her lambs, a pig and some chickens and ducks!  They are all competing with each other at the moment to win top place and to secure their position in the show ring, but who will it be???  Follow our updates on Tatton Park face book page to keep updated!

Please do come and see us soon to congratulate all our new mums on their adorable new arrivals, and wish the mums to be lots of luck!
