Summer on the Farm
Enjoy fun summer days down on the Farm with an array of summer activities that will delight the whole family from July 23rd – August 24th 2019. Learn about daily farming life with regular milking demos and see Farm machinery in action. Enjoy fabulous food demos and outdoor play that allow kids to engage with nature and animals….there's something for everyone!
Make the most of your visit to the Farm this summer and plan your day…here’s our full timetable of hands-on, daily activities, including storytelling, food and milking demos, sheep racing and of course don’t forget saying hello to the new chicks in the hatchery.
Daily Summer activities:
12.30pm – Meet the chicks in the hatchery
1pm – Storytelling
1.30pm – See the mill machines running
2pm – Food demos (Tuesdays – Ice cream making, Thursdays – Jam making and Sundays – Cheese making)
2.30pm – Meet the chicks in the hatchery
3pm – Milking demo
3.30pm – Sheep racing
Get hands on!
Experience exciting themed weeks in August....learn all about tractors with Tractor Ted, come and experience the birds of prey flying show and enjoy the benefits of outdoor play with a week of den building, woodland storytelling and much more.
Sat 3rd - Fri 9th Tractor week - Starting off with Tractor Ted on Sat 3rd learn more about tractors and have your picture taken with our new tractor throughout the week.
Sat 10th-Fri 16th Birds of Prey week - Come meet and learn more about birds of prey and see the daily flying show.
Sat 17th-Fri 23rd Family Forest Fun week - Den building, woodland storytelling, navigation, and marshmallows over the campfire.
Taste of summer
Experience the Farm through the culinary delights of ice cream, jam and cheese making demonstrations with free tastings and recipes available to take away with you.
Ice cream making days:
Homemade ice cream made using fresh milk from the cows on the Farm.
Tues 6th Aug-Vanilla ice cream
Tues 13th Aug-Honeycomb ice cream
Tues 20th Aug-Fruits of the Forest to tie in with Family Forest Fun week
Jam making days:
Learn about the benefits of eating fruit and learn how to make your own jam.
Thurs 8th Aug-Raspberry jam
Thurs 15th Aug-Strawberry jam
Thurs 22nd Aug-Lemon curd making
Cheese making days:
Watch the cows being milked and then learn how that milk is used in the process of making cheese.

Ten novelty classes including Saddest Eyes, Waggiest Tail and Scruffiest Dog, plus a fun agility course (try it if you’re fit enough!).

A weekend of traditional English fayre and fun. Traditional country crafts, food and drink.
