Superlambanana coming to Tatton!
Tatton’s Home Farm has a new arrival - and she’s distinctly more fragrant than the usual farm residents!
Flora is a Superlambanana, commissioned especially for Cheshire’s Year of Gardens ’08. Designed by artist Rosalind J Hargreaves and sponsored by Northwest Development Agency, Flora is intricately painted with garden scenes, inspired by some of this year’s highlight events including the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park.
Visitors may have spotted some of Flora’s delightfully bendy peers when Liverpool hosted Go Superlambananas during the summer, bringing over 100 of the quirky creatures to the streets of the Capital of Culture. This festival was inspired by the original yellow superlambanana, created by Japanese artist Taro Quiezo, which has been an iconic Liverpool landmark for more than a decade.
Throughout this special year of gardens, Cheshire’s own Flora the Explorer has been lamb in residence at some of the Cheshire’s leading attractions, including Chester Zoo and Chester Race Course.
Flora has now arrived at Tatton Park for our Christmas season. She is appearing in different areas of the estate, looking for a warm stable at Home Farm and perhaps a flower bed to nestle in!
Flora is at the Farm until December 12th. From December 19th to 23rd she will be in the Stableyard and Shops for the Christmas season.
Be prepared to go baa-nanas over our very special guest!
