A tour with far-reaching themes, explore the Egerton family
fortunes during the highs and lows of the British Empire. As guests

four Lord Egertons, their collections and a snapshot of life in
Victorian England. The family timeline mirrors the British Empire’s
rise and fall of prosperity. There will be a tour of the Mansion
state rooms in costume, including the Egertons' family room. As
honoured guests there will also be a pleasure garden tour and a
visit to the Maurice Egerton Collection room for a musical
interlude!
Maurice, the last Lord Egerton of Tatton, was an explorer,
aviator, collector and hunter. His ethnographic collection of
curiosities from his travels, show the tastes of Victorian and
Edwardian life through to the 1950s.
