Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are there disabled toilets? Yes, located in the New Barn in the Stableyard, just by the National Trust recruitment office.

  • Can I hire a wheelchair? Yes, from the Garden Entrance. We have push and electric wheelchairs available and if you want to pre-book please ring 01625 374400.

  • Can you hire a bicycle in Tatton? Yes, you can. The number to ring is 01625 374458. The cycle hire is usually open most weekends, but please check before setting out.

  • How far is the Mere from the Mansion? The Mere (Tatton) is approximately 20 minutes’ walk from the Mansion.

  • How much is it to enter the Park? £5 per car.

  • How much is it for each attraction? From high season 2010 prices are £4.50 adult, £2.50 child, £11.50 family. Totally Tatton Tickets are available which cover three attractions and cost £7.00 per adult, £3.50 per child and £17.00 per family. They are available from any of the attractions.

  • How far is the Farm from the Restaurant? It is about a 10 minute walk.

  • What time does the Park close? In low season the park closes at 5pm and in high season it closes at 7pm.

  • What time does Knutsford gate close? 4pm in low season and 6pm in high season.

  • What times does the pedestrian gate close at Knutsford? 5pm in low season, 7pm during high season.

  • Where can we have a BBQ? There is a designated site in the park for BBQs, on arrival the gatekeeper will give you a leaflet which will indicate the area of the park for BBQs.  The use of BBQs is currently under review. 

  • Does Tatton allow dogs? Yes, but they are not allowed in any of the buildings or the formal gardens. Please be aware that there are sheep, cows and deer roaming freely within the parkland.

  • Does Tatton allow horse riding? Yes, you are welcome to bring your own horse. A leaflet will be given to you on arrival or alternatively you can download the horse riding regulations by clicking here. Please enter the park via the Knutsford gate.

  • Does Tatton have its own horse riding stables? No, but you can ride your own horse within the parkland.

  • Does Tatton allow camping? No.

  • Does Tatton allow fishing and what kind of fish are there? Yes it does during the open season. There is a fishing information sheet which is available by clicking here or by calling 01625 374400. It is also available from the gatekeeper on arrival.

  • Does Tatton allow swimming? No.

  • Does Tatton allow boating on the mere? Yes, you can download the sailing regulations by clicking here or by calling 01625 374400. It is also available from the gatekeeper on arrival.

  • Where can I buy Picnic Concert tickets? Please ring 0870 899 3339 or 0870 060 1768. Click here for more information.  

  • Where can I buy RHS Flower Show tickets? By ringing 0870 842 2235. Click here for more information.  

  • What dates are the Flower Show this year? 21st - 25th July 2010.

  • How far is it from the car park to the Flower Show? There will be complimentary transport to and from the car park to the show site but it is about a 10 minute walk – depending on where you have parked your car.

  • Are there wheelchairs available for the RHS Show? Yes, by ringing 0207 821 3402 for use in the showground only.
