Discovering the Empire - Culture and diversity of the four Lords of Tatton
KS2 & 3 ● Max of 20 children per group, 2 groups per day

A Tour with far reaching themes, explore the Egerton family fortunes during the highs and lows of the British Empire.
As guests in the family home, children will be introduced to a timeline of four Lord Egertons, their collections and a snapshot of life in Victorian England. The family timeline mirrors the British Empire’s rise and fall of prosperity.
There will be a tour of the Mansion state rooms in costume, including the Egertons' family room. As honoured guests there will also be a pleasure garden tour and a visit to the Maurice Egerton Collection room for a musical interlude!
Maurice, the last Lord Egerton of Tatton, was an explorer, aviator, collector and hunter. His ethnographic collection of curiosities from his travels, show the tastes of Victorian and Edwardian life through to the 1950s.

Story time and Rhyme
Foundation & KS1 ● Max 15 children per group, 4 groups per day
Available April – October for Mansion and all year for the Farm
Duration approx 1 hour

Visit Tatton's magnificent neo-classical Mansion as it is brought to life for a traditional family Christmas. The children will explore the servants' quarters and the beautifully decorated state rooms, as well as making their own Christmas decoration.

Meet Father Christmas at the Farm
