The New Housekeeper's Store
After an extensive refurbishment, the new look Housekeeper’s Store at Tatton Park officially reopened on May 28th 2008. It's now bursting at the seams with tastes and flavours and provides the region’s finest selection of food and drink. Almost twice the size of the previous shop, the beautifully refurbished store continues to offer personal service from people who know and love their food. Whether you are stocking up the fridge for a fabulous dinner party or just visiting Tatton Park and feel the urge to try a tempting snack, the Store has a stunning array of top quality local fare and seasonal treats to whet your appetite.
It now sells a full range of estate produce and regional specialities including one of the County’s best selections of preserves, pickles and cheeses. Tatton’s own lines include various cuts of prime venison from the ancient parkland, a tasty selection of pork produced from the Tatton working farm and rare breed lamb and game from the estate. We now offer a small amount of fresh venison to complement the range of frozen cuts.
A main feature of the Housekeeper’s Store is the cheese counter, guaranteed to always stock at least one cheese from the four different countries of the British Isles and to have at least one Cheshire cheese. The Store’s knowledgeable staff can help you choose the ideal cheeses to complement your meal and wine, inviting you to sample and perhaps try something a little different.
Throughout the year the Housekeeper’s Store provides the best in regional produce. Staff go to great lengths to visit suppliers and gain first-hand knowledge resulting in the best in quality, taste and service for their customers. Whether that is delicious local dairy ice cream, Cartmel’s famous Sticky Toffee Pudding, Tatton’s own label British wine and local beer and Tatton’s own range of chutneys, jams, and pickles, everything has passed their quality test.
Chocolate, beer, preserves, pickles, apple juice, cheese, biscuits, whatever your fancy it’s likely someone in Cheshire makes it and the Housekeeper’s Store will sell it. Supported by its suppliers with wine tasting and food sampling on many weekends, the store also takes part in many food based events such as British Breakfast Week. You may be fortunate enough to coincide your visit with a fresh delivery of Tatton’s two own award winning sausages (as judged by the North West Fine Foods Awards 2007) – the Best Pork Sausage in the North West and a truly delightful venison sausage which won the Specialist Meat category. Tatton was also awarded `Best Cheshire Producer’ at the same event.
The new Housekeepers Store’s will be able to build on its already established reputation for supplying a superb range of tasty, fresh, local food and drink to both visitors to Tatton Park and local residents.
