Container Planting (half day course)
Sat May 31st Morning course 10am to 12.30pm; Afternoon course 1pm to 3.30pm
Types of containers, suitable plants and Permanent Planting. Make and plant up hanging baskets, plant or plunge plants in containers
Take away a potted plant
NB: Both courses £20
Planning the Winter Garden
Sat Oct 4th. 10am to 3pm
Morning: Draw plans for a winter garden to create an interesting garden all year. Learn and discuss about plants that bloom well in the winter season
Afternoon: Practical winter plant session
Pruning
Saturday Nov 29th. 10am to 3pm Morning: Pruning tools, safety precautions, basic principles of pruning, time for pruning (for a selection of common shrubs), initial pruning, and formative pruning.
Afternoon: Pruning of top fruit (summer and, winter pruning) pruning of soft fruit; practical pruning session – ornamental shrubs.
Christmas Decorations (Wreaths and Garlands)
Saturday Dec 13th. 10am to 3pm Morning: Enjoy a guided tour of the traditionally decorated Mansion State Rooms.
Afternoon: Work with Tatton gardeners to design and make wreaths and garlands for that special atmosphere at home this Christmas.
